The Luther Trail
The Luther Trail runs in a large loop through Coburg and Heldburg district, along with the Rodachtal. The area has some very special sections of the walking trail, which leads through five federal states and many regions. The stretch from Neustadt bei Coburg to Rottenbach bei Eisfeld covers a total distance of 95 kilometres. It crosses the former border between the two German states several times. Large and small Reformation sites await walkers on the Luther Trail in Bavaria and Thuringia.
It leads through picturesque, hilly landscapes to the former capital Coburg, with its mighty fortress, idyllically located with picturesque half-timbered houses, or the fortress of Heldburg, known as the “Franconian Light”. The good, Franconian cuisine served up in the inns keeps guests full of energy. ThermeNatur in Bad Rodach and Terrassentherme in Bad Colberg offer walkers following in Luther’s footsteps a wellness break for body and mind.
